Influenced by hardcore, metal and emo, five friends from Lübben, Germany founded a band back in 2003. This project soon developed into a serious band and besides some EPs TwoMinuteSilence released its first full-length in September of 2007. Almost a half year has passed by now and we from Metalrage finally received this effort. According to their bio: “TwoMinuteSilence doesn’t really reinvent the wheel, but definitely they’re an enrichment to the scene”. Hopefully they haven’t overestimated themselves.

When listening to the music on Broken.Heart.Syndrome I can completely agree with the above mentioned quote from the bio of these five Germans. The music isn’t original or anything, but still they’re good at what they do. The music is built up out of heavy, yet melodic riffs, tight drumming, decent bass-playing and some nice screams and clean vocals. Especially the clean vocals stand out in these songs. The clean vocals are mostly the weakest spot in the metalcore-genre, but with someone like Florian behind the mic you have nothing to worry about. I honestly don’t know if he can produce the same sound live, but so far, so good.

Furthermore there is nothing much to say about TwoMinuteSilence. I think they would do good on tour with bands like Caliban and 36 Crazyfists or some screamo-band, if they can produce the same sound live as they do on CD. They’re just your average metalcore band and you should check them out if you like the genre. On the other hand, you’ll probably hate them if you’re not in the metalcore-thing.
